To Forks and Back

*Those of you who have not read The Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer, this post won't make very much sense, but you can still enjoy the pictures!

Today I went to Forks, Washington (the setting of the Twilight books) with Aunt Marilyn, Uncle Gene, Aunt Sylvia and Uncle Norm. It was about a three hour drive, and it was spent in extreme excitement. Before I left Roseburg for the summer, my friends from the ward joked with me saying that it would so cool if I went to Forks while I was in Washington. I brushed it off saying that it probably wouldn't happen, but couldn't conceal the fact that it would be really cool if I did. Well, I had gone through the whole summer and hadn't made it to Forks (like I expected). Last night, however, Aunt Marilyn and Aunt Sylvia thought that it would be fun to go see where Twilight was set, so we decided to make the trek.

We stopped about 30 miles from Forks to have lunch. We got out of the car and it was bright and sunny. Definitely not a day for the vampires to come outside, but it was nice weather for us. We had lunch by the ocean, and it was a beautiful view.

We did the "Forks Tour" a little backwards. Before actually heading into town, we found a sign that pointed out the way to the local hospital, or Dr. Carlisle Cullen's place of work!

Next, we headed into town, and we found the high school! Unfortunately, school hasn't started yet, so Bella and her friends weren't there to take pictures with us. Darn!

Here is the parking lot of Forks High School, where the car accident happens. There were no problems today though, seeing as how no cars were actually in the parking lot.

On the road to La Push aka Where the werewolves are. I did find a house on the way that could possibly be Jacob Black's house, but we drove by it too fast.

First Beach, possibly...not really sure. But, you can imagine that as the cliff Bella jumped off of for "recreational purposes".

Me, in my Twilight shirt, at First Beach.

The view from riding on Edward's back while he's running. Haha, ok, not really. This was my attempt at taking a picture of the forest while we were driving, and it turned out blurry.

Twilight display case at a Sugar Shop.

Bella's Truck at the Forks Chamber of Commerce building. When I got out of the car, the lady who worked there automatically asked me, "Team Edward or Team Jacob?", to which I answered loudly, "Team Edward! Of course!" and she said, "NO! Team Jacob!" She was very friendly and gave us a map of Forks, and directions to the Cullen's and the Swan's house.

The Thriftway were Bella shops and the outdoor store where Bella works.

Chief Charlie Swan's cruiser, the one Bella refuses to ride in.

Supposedly, this is the Cullen's house, but it was too close to town and not big enough.

The Swan residence. This was exactly how I imagined Bella's house.

Two things I would like to point out: 1st- The forest is named "Clearwater", as in Harry, Sue, Leah and Seth (my favorite of the Clearwaters). 2nd-The Escapee in Area part!

The Forks Tour Group!

All in all, the day was a lot of fun. It was great getting to see all the spots that I had read about.

I have seen the error and my ways and have no choice but to read the books. Looks like a fun day.

You've made me want to take the tour. I love that Forks has embraced the Twilight visitors and turned themselves into the real thing. Good luck at school!
