Tonight, Mary and I went to go see Ryan Shupe and the Rubber band. I had never heard any of their music, but they are phenomenal musicians. After the concert, Mary made me stand in line so that we could meet them, but luckily the line moved very fast, and we were able to get our picture taken with the band and get their autograph.

My eventful first day!
Well, today's classes went really well. I already feel smarter! However, my new smartness did not help me while I was cooking dinner.
I decided that I was actually going to cook in my kitchen instead of just heat something up. I had stuff for spaghetti, so I decided to make that. Unfortunately, neither me nor my roommate Corinne had a can opener (Take in mind that Rosie, our other roommate was in class at the time). Corinne suggested that I just use a steak knife to stab the can open. Well, I took her advice. The first time I stabbed it, I hit the can. The second time, I stabbed my hand instead. My CNA skills went into high gear, and I told Corinne to hand me a towel as I ran my hand under water. Then, I applied pressure to it, held my hand above my heart, put my shoes on, and we left the apartment. We headed down to the Student Health Center, which had just closed. Luckily, Corinne could drive a stick shift, so she drove me to the ER(which we got lost on the way, not knowing our way around Rexburg!). At this point I was getting light headed and nauseous. Not from the blood, but from shock. Of course, it took the lady at the front desk forever to take my information. But soon, the nurse came back and got me. When I told her my story, she said to me, "You know, can openers are only a couple of dollars."!!!! Not really the comforting thing I wanted to be hearing while my hand was bleeding! Seriously, aren't nurses supposed to be empathetic? The cut wasn't deep enough that I needed stitches. Instead, the doctor just super-glued my hand together with this medical bonding glue. He also glued part of my skin together, so when he was pulling it apart, it hurt so bad! Now, what is ironic about this story, is that when we got back home, Rosie pulled out her can opener so that I could open my can of spaghetti sauce and finish cooking, as I was starving by that time! Well, at least I have a cool story to tell my kids about my first day of college!
The infamous can of tomato sauce and the knife that I stabbed it with.
My cut! It looks great doesn't it!

Day two and three...
Well, here are some pictures from today. Right now I'm so exhausted, but it was worth it to go to all of the activities. This is from the breakfast this morning. Look at all those freshmen!
This was at the service project. We ran out of towels for the hygiene kit, so they turned up the music and it turned into a dance while we waited for more towels.
This is at the service project. We made hygiene kits and baby hats.
These are some of the girls in my dorm hall. And there is also a random guy that came into the picture!
I don't even want to know what kind of issues those people are having!
This is a picture of me, my friend Mary (blonde hair) and her roommate Jen at I-night.
Mary trying to help me get up after I fell in the bungee-run. My belt was broken, so I couldn't get back up once I fell.
Mary and I racing. I'm trying not to fall over again, so I didn't win the second time, but the first time I did!
I start classes on Monday. I'm really excited! Tomorrow is our first Sunday with our new ward. It will be great to meet all new people. Plus, it will be my first time in Relief Society. At least I'm in a student ward though. :D

First Day at BYU-Idaho
Well, I am now in Rexburg, Idaho. It was a long drive! Adam flew up to Seattle to drive down with me. It took us 15 hours! My poor car was so tired by the time we got to the motel in Idaho Falls. Here's my car the day before, right after I had packed it up. While I was packing, the neighbor boys were asking me questions like, "Are you going camping?" and "Do you have any kids?"
Here is Spencer playing on my bed in my dorm room. It took us a while to get him down.
Here is my side of the dorm room. As of right now, I'm not sharing the room with anyone. My friend who I was supposed to room with never showed up. I'm not sure if this means that I'll have my own room for a semester or if someone will move in.
Our lovely bathroom!
Our living room. Right now it looks like a prison. Any ideas on how to spruce it up?
Our kitchen. Yesterday, my roomie Rosie and I went grocery shopping , so I now have food!
I'm on my way out to go to a dance/party thing for new freshman, but stay tuned for more pictures from my second and third day here!

To Forks and Back
*Those of you who have not read The Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer, this post won't make very much sense, but you can still enjoy the pictures!
Today I went to Forks, Washington (the setting of the Twilight books) with Aunt Marilyn, Uncle Gene, Aunt Sylvia and Uncle Norm. It was about a three hour drive, and it was spent in extreme excitement. Before I left Roseburg for the summer, my friends from the ward joked with me saying that it would so cool if I went to Forks while I was in Washington. I brushed it off saying that it probably wouldn't happen, but couldn't conceal the fact that it would be really cool if I did. Well, I had gone through the whole summer and hadn't made it to Forks (like I expected). Last night, however, Aunt Marilyn and Aunt Sylvia thought that it would be fun to go see where Twilight was set, so we decided to make the trek.
We stopped about 30 miles from Forks to have lunch. We got out of the car and it was bright and sunny. Definitely not a day for the vampires to come outside, but it was nice weather for us. We had lunch by the ocean, and it was a beautiful view.
We did the "Forks Tour" a little backwards. Before actually heading into town, we found a sign that pointed out the way to the local hospital, or Dr. Carlisle Cullen's place of work!
Next, we headed into town, and we found the high school! Unfortunately, school hasn't started yet, so Bella and her friends weren't there to take pictures with us. Darn!
Here is the parking lot of Forks High School, where the car accident happens. There were no problems today though, seeing as how no cars were actually in the parking lot.
On the road to La Push aka Where the werewolves are. I did find a house on the way that could possibly be Jacob Black's house, but we drove by it too fast.
First Beach, possibly...not really sure. But, you can imagine that as the cliff Bella jumped off of for "recreational purposes".
Me, in my Twilight shirt, at First Beach.
The view from riding on Edward's back while he's running. Haha, ok, not really. This was my attempt at taking a picture of the forest while we were driving, and it turned out blurry.
Twilight display case at a Sugar Shop.
Bella's Truck at the Forks Chamber of Commerce building. When I got out of the car, the lady who worked there automatically asked me, "Team Edward or Team Jacob?", to which I answered loudly, "Team Edward! Of course!" and she said, "NO! Team Jacob!" She was very friendly and gave us a map of Forks, and directions to the Cullen's and the Swan's house.
The Thriftway were Bella shops and the outdoor store where Bella works.
Chief Charlie Swan's cruiser, the one Bella refuses to ride in.
Supposedly, this is the Cullen's house, but it was too close to town and not big enough.
The Swan residence. This was exactly how I imagined Bella's house.
Two things I would like to point out: 1st- The forest is named "Clearwater", as in Harry, Sue, Leah and Seth (my favorite of the Clearwaters). 2nd-The Escapee in Area part!
The Forks Tour Group!
All in all, the day was a lot of fun. It was great getting to see all the spots that I had read about.
